Birdwatching
is just one of the many interesting activities you can
do along the banks of the river. The Pinedo Isle is a nature
reserve in the Caorso area made of a fluvial isle and a
part of the flood bed of the river. In this area you can
find many different species of bird population: the little
egret, the night heron, the cormorant, the grey and the
red heron, the squacco heron, the stilt plover, the buzzard,
the red kite, the fish hawk, the duck hawk, the sheldrake,
the mallard, the coot, the diver, the merganser, the grebe,
the shoveller, the widgeon, the bee-eater, the green woodpecker,
the jay, the river nightingale, the shrike, the golden
oriole, the hoopoe, the goatsucker and the water rail are
main birds living in the trees and in the air.
