SIt
is almost impossible to talk about Cremona in few lines;
we advise to get information on the specialized tourist
websites.
In a few words, the city is famous because the great violin
makers Antonio Stradivari, Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù and
Antonio Amati were born here; also today the violin makers
of Cremona are famous all over the world for the high quality
of their violins.
Cremona is also renowned for its “Torrazzo”, the
imposing bell tower which stands next to the majestic Cathedral,
another celebrated monument of rare beauty built in the XII
century. The ”Torrazzo” is the highest brick-made
bell clock in Italy and the second in the world.
Cremona is popularly known as the city of the three “T”:
the first for the already mentioned “Torrazzo”,
the second for “Torrone” (the typical nougat made
in Cremona since the XVI century) and the third to remember
the popular actor Ugo Tognazzi, born in Cremona.
